  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into cubes
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin

  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro


  1. In a large bowl, combine the chicken cubes, yogurt, garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, ginger, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until the chicken is evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  2. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute. Add the cumin, coriander, and garam masala and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add the marinated chicken and cook until lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Add the diced tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in the cream and simmer for 5 minutes. Stir in the cilantro and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Serve over rice or with naan.
