The Best NYC Chocolate Chip Cookies from Jane’s Patisserie

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing until each is fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if desired).
  7. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
