Pumpkin Pasties (Turnovers)

These Pumpkin Pasties are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any time of year. The flaky pastry crust is filled with a creamy pumpkin filling and baked until golden brown. Enjoy these turnovers as a snack or dessert.

Ingredients:

– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 teaspoon baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
– 1/2 cup cold water
– 1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree
– 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
– 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
– 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
– 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually stir in the cold water until the dough comes together.
3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into 4-inch circles.
4. In a medium bowl, mix together the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves.
5. Place 1 tablespoon of the pumpkin mixture onto each circle of dough. Fold the dough over the filling and press the edges together to seal. Place the pasties onto a baking sheet.
6. Bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
