– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
– 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
– 1/2 cup diced onion
– 1/2 cup diced bell pepper
– 1/2 cup diced carrots
– 1/2 cup diced celery
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1/4 cup soy sauce
– 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
– 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
– 2 tablespoons honey
– 1 teaspoon sesame oil
– 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
– 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
– 2 tablespoons cornstarch
– 2 tablespoons water


1. Heat the oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
2. Add the chicken and cook until lightly browned, about 5 minutes.
3. Add the onion, bell pepper, carrots, celery, and garlic and cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.
4. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
5. Pour the sauce over the chicken and vegetables and cook until the sauce is thickened, about 5 minutes.
6. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water.
7. Add the cornstarch mixture to the wok and cook until the sauce is thickened, about 2 minutes.
8. Serve over cooked rice or noodles.
