Easy Homemade Beef Stew

This easy homemade beef stew is a hearty and comforting meal that is perfect for a cold winter night. It is made with simple ingredients and is sure to be a hit with the whole family.


– 2 tablespoons of olive oil
– 2 pounds of beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes
– 1 large onion, diced
– 2 cloves of garlic, minced
– 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
– 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
– 2 cups of beef broth
– 2 cups of water
– 2 bay leaves
– 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce
– 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
– 1 teaspoon of dried rosemary
– 2 large carrots, peeled and diced
– 2 stalks of celery, diced
– 2 potatoes, peeled and diced
– Salt and pepper, to taste


1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
2. Add the beef cubes and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.
3. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
4. Add the tomato paste and flour and stir to combine.
5. Add the beef broth, water, bay leaves, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and rosemary and stir to combine.
6. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 1 hour.
7. Add the carrots, celery, and potatoes and simmer for an additional 30 minutes.
8. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
9. Serve hot.
