Grandma’s Classic Apple Pie
Ingredients:
– 2 9-inch unbaked pie crusts
– 6 cups of peeled and sliced apples
– 1/2 cup of white sugar
– 1/2 cup of brown sugar
– 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
– 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
– 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
– 2 tablespoons of butter
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
2. Place one of the pie crusts in a 9-inch pie plate.
3. In a large bowl, combine the apples, white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour. Mix until the apples are evenly coated.
4. Pour the apple mixture into the pie crust. Dot with butter.
5. Place the second pie crust on top of the apple mixture. Crimp the edges of the crusts together.
6. Cut several slits in the top of the pie crust to allow steam to escape.
7. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
8. Allow to cool before serving. Enjoy!
