Easy Beef Empanadas

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup tomato sauce
- 1 package refrigerated pie crust
- 1 egg, beaten
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain off any excess fat.
- Add the onion, garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the beef broth and tomato sauce to the skillet. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the skillet from the heat and let cool for 10 minutes.
- Unroll the pie crust and cut into 8 circles using a biscuit cutter or a glass.
- Place 1/4 cup of the beef mixture in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over the filling and press the edges together to seal.
- Brush the tops of the empanadas with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
