  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, vanilla extract, baking powder, and salt until combined.
  3. Add the cocoa powder and egg and mix until combined.
  4. Add the flour and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
