Butter Chicken

Butter Chicken is a classic Indian dish that is creamy, flavorful, and easy to make. This recipe is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.


– 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch cubes
– 1/2 cup plain yogurt
– 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
– 2 teaspoons garam masala
– 1 teaspoon ground cumin
– 1 teaspoon ground coriander
– 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
– 1 teaspoon paprika
– 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 cup butter
– 1 onion, finely chopped
– 4 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
– 1/2 cup heavy cream


1. In a large bowl, combine the chicken, yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, paprika, cayenne pepper, and salt. Mix until the chicken is evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

3. Add the chicken and cook until lightly browned, about 5 minutes.

4. Add the tomatoes and cook until the chicken is cooked through, about 10 minutes.

5. Add the cream and simmer until the sauce is thickened, about 5 minutes.

6. Serve over rice or with naan bread.
