Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped

Instructions:

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken cubes and toss to coat.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the cornstarch and 1/2 cup of water. Mix until the cornstarch is dissolved.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken cubes and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
  4. In a small saucepan, combine the orange juice, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes, and sesame oil. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Add the cooked chicken to the saucepan and stir to coat. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Serve the orange chicken over steamed rice and garnish with green onions.
